Placemats for Seniors

Pine Tree Quilt Guild is making placemats for the Meals on Wheels program and the new Senior Center. It would be wonderful to have participation from as many members as possible.

Joan Mosley has created a quick, easy pattern available for anyone who is interested, using the “quilt-as-you -go method”. The pattern is designed to be used with 2.5″ strips and one fat quarter for the backing.  We have made up kits for your convenience. The kits will be available for pickup from  Community Service on the first & third Thursday of the month from 9-1. All the fabric and batting plus the pattern are included. The fold-over binding method eliminates the need for a separate binding. You only need to add thread and a little time and energy! Or, make your own 12×18″ (finished size) with your own fabric. The instructions are available here as text or here as text and photos.

We hope to have a Zoom class for new Quilters who wish to learn these methods. Everyone is welcome, including those of you who attended our Quilting 101 classes last year. If interested, email info@pinetreequiltguild.com.
