President's message President's Message • July 2017

Susie HardyIn June I went to the Handi Quilter Academy in Layton, Utah and to a quilting retreat at Tahoe. I had such a good time. I love to spend time with quilters.

We have two very special quilters in our guild, but I can’t give you their names. One of them gave me her gift certificate to Ben Franklin and wanted me to anonymously give it to Mary Serpa .Mary got stuck doing some clean up after the quilt show. She was already in charge of the café and of all of the props. The donor wanted to show her appreciation to Mary for doing much more than her share.

The other quilter gave me a check for $25 and wanted me to anonymously give it to Diane Klose for her tireless work traveling to quilt guild meetings showing our Opportunity Quilt. Our Opportunity Quilt raised over $6000 for our guild.

It is nomination time for our guild. I want to encourage you to consider taking a position on the board. I never thought I wanted to be the VP and then President. Judy Vaughn talked me into it, and I am glad she did. It has been a fun and rewarding experience. I am proud to be at the helm of such a productive group.

Our guild touches our community in so many positive ways. Quilt Show 2017 Jeanne is unable to help with the Quilt Show because of a fire commitment. If no one comes forward to help Sharon, we will have to cancel the 2017 Quilt Show.

Happy Quilting,

..Susie Hardy, PTQG President
